TIPS/ GIFTS FROM YOUR KITCHEN

This next section was designed to share some Kitchen Tips.

A gift you make at home has the personal touch that makes your gift special!  If you don't have a secret family recipe or a seasonal specialty, try one of these ideas found in this cookbook:

Item                   Cookbook Section

Relish                Home Canning
Jelly                   Home Canning
Pecans              Cookies and Treats
Chili Sauce        Home Canning
Pickles              Home Canning
Cakes               Cakes and Pies
Cookies            Cookies and Treats

When giving a gift as exceptional as the one you've made, you'll want to wrap it in a way that's equally special.  Some ideas:

Stack cookies in a clean, empty Pringles container covered with holiday wrap.
The original plastic lid will keep the container airtight.

Wrap Holiday treats in wax paper, tie with a ribbon and tuck into a small holiday stocking.

Bake small loaves of your favorite quick breads in disposable aluminum pans.  Wrap each bread(in the pan) with a festive towel and tie with a ribbon.

Finishing Touches:
Include items to be eaten with your gift.  With a jar of jelly or jam,  place a bakery loaf of bread, crackers, specialty tea or coffee in a basket or on a home-made cutting board.

Include holiday serving utensils used to serve your gift, i.e., spreader for cheese spreads or jelly, server for pies or cakes.  Include a copy of the recipe.

However you choose to wrap your gift, with some of the ideas above, in a gift bag, gift basket or in a festive container purchased at your local store, your gifts will be appreciated and enjoyed by your friends and family because it was a "gift from your heart given with love!"
