COOKIES & TREATS/ PRETZEL DESSERT

A recipe handed down to Aprel from
her Momma, Rosie Ricketts Mencer
Ingredients:
1 16 oz. cream cheese
1 tub of Cool Whip
1 tbsp. butter
1 box jello (any flavor)
Crush pretzels in a zip lock bag.
Put the crushed pretzels in a baking
dish. Melt the butter and pour over
pretzels. Bake pretzel for ten minutes
at 350 degrees.
Mix the jello according to the speed
method on the box. Place in the
refrigerator and let set until almost
jelled, but still jiggly.
In a mixing bowl, mix together the
cream cheese and cool whip. After
the pretzels have cooled, pour the cream
cheese and Cool Whip mixture over the
pretzels.
Now you are ready for the jello.
Pour the jello over the cream cheese
and Cool Whip mixture.
Refrigerate and serve cold!
TIP: If using Strawberry Jello, add two cups of fresh strawberries, washed, sliced thin and add 1/4 cup sugar. Add this to your jello after it thickens slightly, continue jelling.
