HOME CANNING/ GRANDMA KATIE'S CHILI SAUCE

Ingredients:
1/2 bushel of tomatoes
24 medium onions
3 green peppers
3 red peppers
1 large bunch of celery
3 tbsp. salt
1 quart vinegar
8 cups sugar (or to taste)
4 tbsp. mixed pickling spices
In a large pot, place peeled and chopped
tomatoes, peeled and chopped onions,
chopped red and green peppers and celery.
Tie spices in a bag (cheesecloth bag or other 
cooking bag)  and cook all ingredients to 
desired thickness.  Stir often to prevent 
sticking.  Pour in prepared jars and seal.
Sally says:
"Katie's grandchildren loved this mixed with
cooked hamburger to make sloppy joes."
