COOKIES & TREATS/ GRANDMA LOCKE'S SECRET PECAN RECIPE

Ingredients:
Preheat oven to 275 degrees

One (1) pound shelled pecans
1/4 lb. butter
1/4 tsp. salt

Melt butter in saucepan and mix in salt and pecans.

Spread mixture on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 30 minutes on middle rack in oven.
                                                                                                                 
Spread baked pecans on paper towels to dry.
Store in fancy tin lined with waxed paper or a 
plastic container.

Joan says, "Mother-in-law, Betty Locke, made these delicious salted nuts every holiday.  She purchased pecans every year from a local fundraiser, big mammoth pecans straight from Georgia.  Everyone loved them, but she never shared the recipe, however, she always
shared several bags of plain pecans.  One year
 when I opened the bag of pecans from Grandma Locke,   there it was...the much treasured recipe for these fabulous nuts.  You can't eat just one of these gems!"
